Paleontology of Medicine in the Early Islamic Era Abbas Rahbari, Hossein Khosravi, Sohrab EslamiABSTRACT: Medical science has a special place among all communities. Man was regarded the medical profession as a sacred duty for long times and in the meantime, the patient expects a person who is at his bedside to be capable and knowledgeable in medical science and be able to recognize his illness taking action on his treatment. Islamic medicine is a combination of the ancient Greek medical traditions, particularly traditions of Hippocrates and Galen, with theories and practical aspects of medicine in ancient Iran and ancient India. It can be seen a conjunction of Hippocratic perceptions and inspections with a philosophical-theoretical method of Galen and the addition of former knowledge of Iranian and Indian doctors by checking the activities of doctors in early Islam.
